Ingredients list
- 1 wheel of Brie cheese, sliced into strips
- Whole cranberry sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 sheet puff pastry, cut into strips
- Egg wash (1 egg and 1 cap of milk)
Method
- Preparation; Place the wheel of Brie in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before using it in this recipe.
- Remove the puff pastry from the freezer 15 minutes before you’re ready to use it.
- Preheat your oven to 160°C and spray a muffin tray with extra virgin olive oil.
- Remove the Brie from the freezer and slice it into strips (one strip per serving). Set aside.
- Slice the puff pastry into strips, making sure each strip is slightly wider than the Brie slices.
- Spread a thin layer of whole cranberry sauce on each pastry strip, then place a Brie slice on top. Sprinkle crushed pecans
over the Brie. - Roll each pastry strip into a spiral and place it in an individual muffin cup.
- Brush each pastry with an egg wash (1 egg mixed with a cap of milk).
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Carefully remove the Brie appetizers from the muffin tray and transfer them to a serving plate.
Notes
- Keep a close watch on your pastries while baking, as they can quickly go from golden brown to burnt!
