Ingredients list
- 6 chicken drumsticks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more for extra heat)
Method
- Prepare the dry rub: In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Coat the chicken: Place the drumsticks in a large bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle the dry rub over the drumsticks, using your hands to ensure each piece is thoroughly coated on all sides.
- Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray. Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer without overcrowding. Air fry for 12 minutes, then flip the drumsticks using kitchen tongs. Cook for an additional 8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
- Serve: Let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
